Why a periotome saw, not a plain periotome
A conventional periotome has a plain blade. The NiTi Perio Saw has a serrated one.
Micro serration tip
A micro saw on the blade edge cuts the periodontal ligament clearly instead of tearing it.
Super-elastic NiTi
The tip bends up to 180° and springs back straight, following the curvature of the root.

How to use

- Inspect the Perio Saw for damage, deformation or foreign material.
- Pack it in a sterilisation pouch and autoclave: 134 °C, 15 min, dry 20 min.
- Position the tip at the tooth, in the ligament space along the root.
- Push and draw back gently to cut the periodontal ligament around the root.
- With the ligament cut, the tooth becomes mobile for a clear extraction.
- Do not twist the Perio Saw.
- Do not use on an ankylosed tooth.
- Do not use it to elevate the root.
- Do not use if damaged, bent or contaminated.
- Do not use on animals with known reactions to nickel or titanium.

What is the NiTi Perio Saw?

Straight for anterior teeth, Curved for canine or premolar, Angled for mesial and distal, and Flat angled for interproximal. Each is available with a 2 mm or 3 mm tip, individually or as a set of four.
Is it reusable and how is it sterilised?
Yes. It is supplied non-sterile and is reusable. Autoclave it wrapped at 134 °C for 15 minutes and dry for 20 minutes.
